The Final Day Of My Media Blog: Grace R

An quite possibly the most eventful:

  • Of course, i listened to chris moyles for 30 minutes driving to school.
  • i also listened to more radio broadcasting whilst in photography processing pictures.
  • In my media lesson Miss francis used a slideshow presentation to tech her lesson, as an educational aid. later in that lesson i used youtube to find an example of 'Mise en scene', i used a clip from Ugly Betty.
  • at lunch a slideshow was also used to inform queuers of that day's lunch options, very tasty may i add.
  • Whilst in Tesco at lunch queuing i read many of their product advertisement posters and offers.
  • During the school open day they used a slideshow to communicate the advantages of coming to Berkhamsted Collegiate School, thus promoting it to prospective pupils.
  • in the cra on the way home we listened to radio 1 for 20 minutes.
  • On the bus that evening to oxford, i read many advertisements inside the bus, it was a long journey!!

Media Diary Day 4: Grace R

The day started pretty much like any other:

  • 30 minutes of listening to Chris Moyles in the car on the way to school.
  • listened to the radio in photography, although i'm not sure what station it was, whilst processing images in the dark room.
  • Mr Rees used the internet, to help convey his educational message.
  • On the way to games, passing through berkhamsted, we passed many shop windows using media to advertise their goods in the form of ; posters, slideshows e.t.c.
  • later that evening i watched Ugly betty for an hour.
  • before bed i read my book for 15 minutes.

Media Diary Day 3: Grace R

today was only ever so slightly more exciting i'm afraid...... my life doesn't get all that exciting:

  • This morning i listend (0nce again) to the Chris Moyles show on Radio 1 for 30 minutes in the car on the way to school
  • Later i browsed through videos on 'Youtube' for a media assignment. On the 'Youtube' page there is alwys advertising filling up any space on the page, to essentially make money.
  • I then spent 45 minutes of the lesson typing up my first 'Media Blog' post, and i must admit sneakily trying to get onto Facebook, i didn't work!
  • That evening once i got home i read the latest 'Look' magazine for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Later i watched an hour of the latest Jane Austen spin off (don't watch it, they completely masacred the book).
  • before snuggling into bed i read my book, 'Forgotten Voices of the Second World War' for 15 minutes.
  • then i switched off my light and fell asleep.

media diary day 2:

the day started with the usual 20 minutes radio session with Chris Moyles on the way to the station. Once at the station i was then inundated with adverts on billbards and trainline ofers. whilst on the train i read this week's, London Weekly, paper in a vein attempt to grasp what is going on in the world, or perhaps just London.

On the way home again we spent around 30-40 minutes, listening to more radio to keep us occupied. that night i recorded 'Ross Kemp on Gangs in Kenya' for an hour whilst i did homework on the computer.

media diary day 1:

First let me just say that this has been a journey of self discovery, as i have ultimately discover what a boring life i lead:

  • This morning i listened to the radio in the car on the way to the station, for approximately 10 minutes. To be specific i listened to Chris moyles, unfortunately it wasn't very exciting, but i was outnumbered by other supporters within my family.
  • whilst standing on the platform at the station, whilst waiting for the train i happened to glance at many advertising billboards, scattered along the platform.
  • Once home i used the computer for about 3 hours, switching between: myspace, facebook, google and MSN. Mostly google though, as i was "supposed" to be doing homework, but being lured away by the draws of facebook and instant messaging. however, within facebook itself there is more advertising surrounding the webpage.
  • i then watched TV for n hour: Amazon with Bruce Parry. i highly recommend it, very cultural, if you like that kind of thing. the good, and unusual, thing about Parry's shows is that there are no breaks!

and that sums up my day, and the media it involved. exciting i know.
